Artisan Sweet Sausage with Broccoli & Ziti
Serves: 6
Prep & Cook Time: 30 Minutes
Ingredients

12 oz Kayem Artisan Sweet Sausage with Italian Herbs Fennel & Basil
         olive oil cooking spray
2 1/2 Cups  broccoli florets, fresh
12 oz ziti pasta, dry
3 tbsp  extra virgin olive oil, (divided 1 tbsp, 2 tbsp)
3 ea fresh garlic cloves, minced
1/4 Cup  sun dried tomatoes, sliced
1/4 Cup white wine
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
1/2 tsp crushed red chili pepper flakes
3/4 Cup grated Parmesan Cheese, low sodium

Instructions
  • Coat a large skillet with cooking spray, brown the sausages evenly on both sides. Remove from the heat, reserve.
  • Blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 2 minutes, chill immediately. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to directions, drain & toss with 1 tbsp olive oil. Reserve ½ cup of the pasta water.
  • Slice sausage links on the diagonal. To the skillet, add the remaining olive oil and quickly sauté the garlic over medium heat, add the sun dried tomatoes for 1 minute.
  • Toss in the pasta, broccoli florets, heat 2 minutes, add the white wine, seasonings and pasta water. Add the sliced sausages pieces, & the parmesan. Stir gently for 1 minute. Serve immediately with your favorite Italian bread.
